Description:
Earth Markets are farmers’ markets that have been established according to guidelines that follow the Slow Food philosophy. These community-run markets are important social meeting points, where local producers offer healthy, quality food directly to consumers at fair prices and guarantee environmentally sustainable methods. In addition, they preserve the food culture of the local community and contribute to defending biodiversity.
Extract from text:
In terms of the Earth Markets – consumers believe in local food and a direct relationship with the producer. In the past the media reported some big scandals in some food value chains, so maybe there is more trust in local food. Some supermarkets are also excited to write local food/0km in order to highlight even products that are produced in an industrial way. For earth markets consumers seek direct contact with producers – this is the only way to trust them. If you know them, you can trust what they do and what you are going to eat.
